South Burlington, Vermont

South Burlington is a city in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States.[4] It is the 2nd-largest city in the state of Vermont and home to the headquarters of Ben & Jerry's and the state's largest mall, the University Mall. It is also one of the principal municipalities of the Burlington, Vermont metropolitan area.

The city includes a central hub called City Center, which serves as the main business district. Residential neighborhoods surround City Center to the east and south. A mix of strip commercial and residential neighborhoods border Lake Champlain to the southwest. The city is in the planning and design phase of a redevelopment project to revitalize the City Center core.[5]

Carpenter bees are species in the genus Xylocopa of the subfamily Xylocopinae. The genus includes some 500 species in 31 subgenera.[1] The common name "carpenter bee" derives from their nesting behavior; nearly all species burrow into hard plant material such as dead wood or bamboo. The main exceptions are species in the subgenus Proxylocopa; they dig nesting tunnels in suitable soil.
